Syncope is the sudden and temporary loss of consciousness generally caused by insufficient oxygen in the brain either through cerebral hypoxia or through hypotension and malfuctioning of the blood flow from heart.
Symptoms:-
Dizziness,clamminess of skin
A dimming of vision or greyout(Black vision in front of patients eye),complete loss of vision
Weakness of limbs leads to falling short of complete collapse.
When:-
Syncope when oxygen content is less than 16 % at atm.Less than 11% oxygen in the air at this pressure can lead to death by suffocation. However, the amount of oxygen in the air is dependent on the partial pressure of oxygen, meaning that, if a person inhales pressurized gas.
Where:-
suba diving, mountaineers, pilots and astronauts partial pressure of oxygen in normal air mixture is not enough to prevent hypoxia.

Clinical Approach:-
Blood test has to be done if it indicate anemia then iron rich diet should be taken like liver, green vegetables and folic acid.
Electrocardiograms
An electrocardiogram (ECG) records the electrical activity of your heart. It is estimated that from 20%-50% of patients will have an abnormal ECG.
Holter monitor testing
Sometimes, one may be asked to wear a holter monitor. This is a portable ECG device that can record the wearer's heart rhythms during daily activities over an extended period of time.

Onset managment:-
Returning the blood to the brain by makeing legs on sum angle from the ground. As the dizziness and the momentary blindness passes, the person may experience a brief period of visual disturbances in the form of phosphenes, sudden sore throat, nausea, and general shakiness. Then complete bed rest should be given.
