The most common dental problem faced during pregnancy is gingival enlargement
This may be gingival orgeneralised occuring as single or multiple masses.
The inter-proximal gingiva shows more enlargement with bright red or magenta colour
Spontaneous or bleeding on probing is present

PREGNANCY TUMOURS
It is an inflammatory reaction to local irritants, usually appearing at 3rd month of pregnancy
Usually painless unless its size and shape foster accumulation of debris under its margins or interfere with occlusion
painful ulceration may be seen

TREATMENT::
This condition should be prevented by removal of local irritants and instituting a fastidious oral hygiene
In severe cases surgical excision or gigivectomy may be carried out

A diabetic mother is most susceptible to infection and delayed healing of wounds...hence it is of utnost importance that a diabetic mother take extra care of her oral hygiene...
Such women would be more prone to periodontal diseases
Higher tendency of gingival bleeding
Severe periodontitis,Periodontal abscess...all these can give rise to mobility of teeth
Resorption of alveolar bone
Oral candidiasis
Burning mouth syndrome
Angular chelitis,altered taste sensation,lichen planus
