GIC is the preferred choice of fillling material in cervical caries. Cervical caries must be differentiated from abfraction cavities (NCCL i.e Non carious cervical lesions). Abfraction cavities can develop secondary caries due to food lodgement. However their basic etiology is occlusal stress.

Abfraction cavities must be restored with composite only.

However in selected cases light cured composite can be used to restore cervical caries also.

The case is open for discussion.
